Rostima unveils new service to enhance labour cost savings for customers
Rostima launches 'Rostima Activity Value Analysis' service.
London UK – 19th April 2005: Rostima Ltd, a global leader
in the development and supply of Enterprise Workforce Management solutions,
has introduced the “Rostima Activity Value Analysis” (RAVA) service
to provide in-depth analysis of employee scheduling and produce schedules that
reduce costs and optimise business efficiency.
The Rostima Activity Value Analysis (RAVA) service assists companies in understanding
the cost drivers associated with the workforce of the business and thereby maximises
the cost reductions of future scheduling and business planning.
“The RAVA service concept has been developed from Rostima’s extensive
experience of analysing customers’ businesses prior to implementation
of Rostima solutions,” said Kim Berknov, Rostima CEO.
“To achieve unique labour-cost savings,” said Berknov, “businesses
have to re-assess the way they establish workload, and use the RAVA concept
to identify where and how their businesses can change and gain.”
The RAVA service involves Rostima consultants working with customers to establish
an Activity based Value profile in which a value is placed against each performed
activity. Data from all activities carried out by employees is compiled; the
cost of carrying out each activity is assessed, and each activity is categorised
according to whether it contributes significant value to the business going
forward.
A value based model of the business’s overall workload is then developed,
and the allocation of labour resources (employees) to activities is simulated
by feeding workload data into the Rostima “Schedule Creation Engine”
(a heuristic scheduling algorithm developed by Rostima).
The Schedule Creation Engine automatically generates schedules which meet the
requirements of workplace rules including government regulations and staff contract
details. This powerful system performs millions of calculations to find the
least-cost schedule to satisfy the work that needs to be covered.
The simulation stage allows adjustments to be made to optimise cost savings
from increasing workforce efficiencies. The activity mix can be changed to reflect
the understanding of which activities add value; new activities to help meet
demand can be added, and activities that don’t add value can be eliminated.
