Rostima Continues to Grow in Airport Sector

March 2004 - London Luton Airport Operations Ltd (LLAOL) have purchased a licence to use the Rostima software suite for planning and managing staff rosters for over 400 staff at Luton Airport. The decision followed a referral from another successful Rostima airport project at Gatwick.

The software will use passenger flow data and fixed staffing requirements to help identify potential new shift patterns, plan new rosters and improve management of staff absence during leave, sickness and training.

LLAOL Airport Security Manager Steven Birchall, who has in excess of 15 years operational experience, in airport and security staff planning, selected Rostima to implement at Luton as he believes it is key to developing the most staff efficient and cost effective rosters. “Passenger numbers and flows change constantly and with it the demands from the customer. As a business we need to ensure that we are able to deliver these passenger trends in order to compete with our competitors and by remaining focused on the business to enable us to deliver the efficiencies we continually strive for without compromising the security of our passengers.”

Initially the Rostima software will be used for over 220 Security and Operations Room staff and there are plans to use the software for other parts of the operation in the near future.

The airport, which handles up to 19,000 passengers on a daily basis for carriers such as easyJet, Monarch, Britannia and British Airways CitiExpress, is one of Britain’s fastest growing airports.
